Commissioned by Nettlefold Festival with funds from LAB and premiered there by Ricardo Gallardo, September 19,1992. solo tenor steel pan, ca 12mins.

El Progreso de Pedro

 

Piano Solo. The music of Pedro’s Progress reflects the halting and teasing structure of the classic Mexican novella, Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo. Pedro’s Progress was written for and commissioned by Ana Cervantes in

2007. It may be played as one complete work of 10 minutes. Alternatively two of the three sections may be abstracted and presented in isolation.
